Quality of Life

As the son of someone suffering from ALS, I certainly have first-hand knowledge of the devastation this disease can cause while watching my mother fight the battle against it. Fortunately, my mother and father spent a great deal of their life helping others and “karma” has come back around in the form of a community of people who have helped support them during this time. These people (“angels”, as my mother calls them) are friends, fellow church members, neighbors and many other people whose lives my parents touched at one time or another. The efforts of each of these people, no matter how big or small their involvement, has made a monumental difference to my mother and to our family. (more…)
