Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to the many, many donations we’ve received in memory of Bernie Ragan, who passed away on December 25, 2009.

Bernie was born on July 13, 1941 in Syracuse, New York a son of the late William Bernard Ragan, Sr. and Evelyn Hudson Ragan.  He attended Lemoyne College and then served in the United States Air Force from which he was honorably discharged in April 1968.

For over 25 years, Bernie worked as an engineer with IBM. He served as a Deacon for over 25 years at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton and was a Fourth Degree member of the Father Veger Council of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Ragan; two sons, Christopher Ragan and Patrick Ragan; a sister, Ann Timpano, and a granddaughter, Sarah Ragan. A viewing was held on Friday, January 1, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, January 2 at 11 a.m. at the church. Bernie was laid to rest at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.

Bernie was a devoted husband and father and a dedicated leader in the St. John’s community. Most of all, he was a good man and he will be greatly missed.

Over $3,000 was raised for the Project in memory of Bernie.
